This Louis XVI style 19th century desk is both functional and elegant. With hints of remaining gold-leaf accents, this piece features a flat work space set over beautifully turned, fluted legs. An elegant cross-stretcher with a central medallion finishes off the details. Made in the late 19th century, this desk has typical, Louis XVI straight lines. It is in very good, solid condition. The leather top is original and shows signs of age with ink stains. No tears or gauges. There are two dove-tailed drawers for storage. This piece works well in both traditional and contemplative interiors. Great desk or hall table.
