A fantastic pair of vintage Italian “Cesca” style armless chairs in the manner of Marcel Breuer. First presented in 1928, the design has become iconic of Bauhaus minimalism intersecting with a reverence for traditional craftsmanship. The gently curved seats and seat backs are made of tightly woven cane stretched between a frame of complementary beech wood left in its natural blonde tone, cantilevered on tubular chromed steel legs that form a continuous line to achieve an effect that is light in visual weight and mass. Such thoughtful details make these chairs at home around a dining table, desk, or other seating area. “Made in Italy” stamped into the underside of the seats. Sold as a pair.
