Chairish

$2,958

A pair of 'SW86' black fabric and oak dining chairs by Danish furniture designer Finn Juhl for Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik in the 1950s. These Scandinavian Modern sculptural dining chairs feature warm honey hued oak frames with textured graining, teak rounded handle backs, and upholstered seats in warm fabric. Denmark, 1950s. Along with Hans Wegner and Børge Mogensen, Finn Juhl was one of the the most famous Danish furniture designers of the Mid 20th Century. Juhl began designing furniture in the late 1930s, embracing expressive, free-flowing shapes in chairs and sofas. He was the first in this group to have his work promoted overseas, bringing the simplicity and craftsmanship behind Danish designs to an international audience. Condition: Great overall vintage condition. Very minor scratches and spots on portions of the vinyl upholstery. Wood frames do not show significant signs of wear. Very Good vintage condition This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
