The Ferm Living x Utzon – Can Lis collaboration draws inspiration from architect Jørn Utzon’s family home in Mallorca, merging the natural environment with design elements that reflect his unique philosophy. The Vist Dining Chair is a considered exploration of FSC™-certified Douglas fir, emphasizing the material’s natural beauty and inherent strength. Inspired by the on-site joinery and millwork at Can Lis, its form achieves a delicate balance between rustic domesticity and lightness. The gently rounded seat and curved backrest highlight the thoughtful craftsmanship behind the piece, making it a timeless addition to any setting. Wood is a natural material, with variations in grain pattern and color that make each design unique. Douglas fir is a softwood and may be susceptible to marks or indents from sharp objects. It is normal for solid wood to expand and shrink due to variations in environmental humidity. A consistent humidity level of approximately 50% is recommended to prevent cracks and surface splits. Designed with Expansion joints to help alleviate and allow for some movement in wood to extend the products life.
