Danish Hepplewhite Oval Mahogany Dining Table by Farre Møbelfabrik, 1970s. Elegant oval dining room table with one extension leaf in solid and veneered mahogany. Four round fluted legs with brass shoes and beautiful hand carved details. This extendable table shows a very high level of craftsmanship and quality. Made by Farre Møbelfabrik, also known as Jensen Farre, in Denmark in the 1970s. Farre Møbelfabrik was known as one of the finest manufacturers of classical furniture pieces. They employed only the best craftsmen and their apprentices often won medals at the apprentice tests. It was a very coveted workplace where every employ took great pride in their work. As a result Farre Møbelfabrik produced some of the finest pieces of furniture in Denmark through the 1900s. Especially their Hepplewhite Revival series become very popular from the 1950s and on. This piece was manufactured in the 1970s and the last photo is from an add from the same period. Length without extension leaf: 145 cm Length with extension leaf: 195 cm. Very good vintage condition with light patina consistent with age and use. Some marks and patina on the top, please see photos.
