Designed in the 1970s, Theodore Waddell was inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s tensile and tensegrity structures using both compression and tension to create objects. The 714 Tensegrity table’s base consists of tubular chrome bars and steel wire that create a structure strong enough to hold a glass top. Cassina first manufactured this table in the 1970s and this table is from circa 1980s. The original glass top is 53” wide and is beveled. Use with original glass or replace with your own custom top of this size of smaller. The table comes complete with the furniture glides for the floor purchased recently from Cassina.
