One of a kind French Louis XVI architect's table with a rectangular profile, made of mahogany and mahogany veneer, known as the "Table à la Tronchin" (circa 1790-1800). The work surface, covered in embossed leather and operated by a rack and pinion mechanism, rises and unfolds to form a removable and tiltable desk, adjustable via brass mechanical supports concealed in the front legs. This allows the user to work standing or sitting. The frieze opens to reveal a drawer with a work surface covered in embossed green leather and divided into compartments, possibly for storing papers. The side features divided compartments, one of which includes a metal inkwell. The sides of the table have removable leaves covered in embossed green leather, matching the rest of the main surface, originally used as candle holders.
