Circa 1780 French Louis XVI period marble top commode or chest of drawers. Mahogany with superb figured grey & white marble top conforming to the columnar form of the chest. Well mounted in bronze with hexagonal back plate modified bail & rosette form original pulls. Fluted columns flank the three long drawers - the top one as 3 short faux drawers, with divided interior. Elegant & delicate sabots. Oak secondary wood. 50 1/8" w., 23" d., 34.75" h.
