Empire period French marble top commode, circa 1805-1815. Beautifully figured mahogany with fine acanthus leaf bronze mounts on the pillar & scroll pilasters. Note the whorled leaf mounts on the sides of the pilasters. The dark grey St. Anne marble is typically early & thick to properly proportion the commode lines. Original escutcheon mounts. Later pulls are appropriate stylistically. 44.75" w., 22.5" d., 35.25" h.
