A period Neoclassical Italian two-drawer raised side chest, with decorative inlay banding, from the early 19th century. This antique cassettiera (chest of drawers) from Italy has been designed in nice, clean/linear lines, with an inlay banding detail accentuating the perimeter of each of the two drawer fronts, and cabinet sides. Fluted carvings run vertically down each of the front side posts. The chest houses two full-sized and dovetailed drawers, each fitted with a pair of round-shaped brass ring pulls with flower backplates and an attractive key-hole escutcheon at center. This chest is presented nicely upon four gently tapering squared legs. The medium wood finish has a patina throughout, and normal wear for age. This early 19th century Italian Neoclassical chest, with inlay accents, would be a beautiful addition to a bedroom, or perhaps in a foyer or living area with decorative items atop and storage within.
