A Very Good Quality 18th Century, George III Period, Mahogany Serpentine Chest, Having Superbly Figured Shaped Top with Attractive Wide Crossbanded Decoration, Over Baized Brushing Slide And Four Long Drawers, with Replacement Old Brass Swan Neck Handles, Raised On Original Bold Shaped Bracket Feet with Elegant Inlaid And Crossbanded Decoration. This very elegant and attractive georgian serpentine chest is constructed from richly figured, dense mahogany timbers and retains a superb colour and patina. It is elegantly designed with a lot of thought being put into small details, the result of which is a fabulously attractive item of Georgian 18th century furniture. A couple of examples of the attention to detail are the lovely figuring to the mahogany timbers used for the wide crossbanding and the feet which are banded and inlaid to great effect.
