This superb walnut chest of drawers, stamped by the cabinetmakers of the Nantes house P.Guinand-Leglas, is a true masterpiece of the Renaissance style. Made in 1920, it is distinguished by its refined details and timeless elegance. The chest of drawers opens with a belt drawer, followed by three smaller recessed drawers, all fitted with authentic locks. The drawer fronts are entirely molded with scrolls and scrolls with wooden entrances, adding a touch of sophistication to the whole. The uprights are decorated with turned and tapered columns, testifying to the exceptional know-how of the craftsmen of the time. The whole rests on a stepped, grooved base, ending at the front with imposing pancake feet, giving the chest of drawers stability and an imposing presence. The recessed Belgian Morello red marble top adds a touch of luxury and refinement to this exceptional piece of furniture. P.Guinand-Leglas, furniture manufacturer based at 7 Basse Grande Rue in Nantes, was founded in 1827.
