19th century Swedish Empire birch chest of drawers circa 1870. Good quality scandinavian chest of drawers very much in the empire taste. Rectangular top surface with stepped edge, top resting on 2 turned birch columns which link down to the feet and encases the drawers. 3 graduating drawers which open on the key, which is typical for this period in swedish furniture making. Inset crescent detail in the bottom 2 drawer fronts. Shaped frieze to the front and sides which flow to the floor and conceal the feet. Superb rich golden colour. Minor old restorations to woodwork, minor surface marks. Fully re-finished in our workshop and hand polished. Ready for everyday use.
