Charming 1850s Staffordshire figurine depicting a pair of musicians—she with a lute, he with a dramatic stance and dashing cape. Hand-painted in rich cobalt, ochre, and black with floral accents at the base. As is typical of early Staffordshire pottery, no maker's marks are present. A lovely example of Victorian storytelling in ceramic form.
