A pair of figures on a carved base from 1700. They are two naked cherubs covered only by golden loincloths; apparently two angels announcing but without wings, they stand on tiptoe in a sinuous posture, with their arms raised to indicate the main subject of the original decorative arrangement. They rest on two beautiful baroque bases with two winged angels' faces in the center. The lacquering of the bodies has been redone, and two small knuckles are missing from the right hand of one figure. Northern Italy, 1700.
