Vintage Dresden Rococo-Style Porcelain Figurine in a Lace Ball Gown, Circa 1955 by Germany’s Porzellanfabrik AL-KA Kunst Alboth & Kaiser K.G. In 1872 August Alboth established a small china-refining and decorating business in the town of Coburg, Germany. After August retired in 1899, his son, Ernst decided to move the company from Coburg to a newly built factory in Kronach. After the death of Ernst in 1927, Willy Alboth (who had no children of his own) and Georg Kaiser (married to Ernst's daughter) decided to change the company name to 'AL-KA', a combination of the first two letters of each family name. Over the next few years the factory successfully established its name in the market by not only producing an extensive series of giftware but also manufacturing a high-quality series of Rococo style lace figurines. Based on the maker's mark, this figurine was manufactured in 1955 by Porzellanfabrik AL-KA Kunst Alboth & Kaiser K.G.. Beautiful porcelain figurine of a woman with exquisite details including facial colourings and layers of ruffled porcelain net accents. Dimensions: 4.25" W x 2.5" D x 5" H In very good vintage condition considering age and history. Zoom in on photos to see any imperfections.
