This is an amazing fireplace mantel carved by famous wood artist David frisk. You can tell that he was a master at his craft just by looking at the detail in the birds and the trees. I also noticed that there is a marking next to his signed name that reads 07/80 Which means that this was only the seventh Fireplace ever made in this collection of 80 pieces. This fireplace mantle is very large, very solid, and very heavy. I love the way that the grain in the wood compliments the scene. I noticed that there were a couple of spots where the wood is separating from one another particularly on the inside left leg which I included a photo of. However, I do believe that this can easily be fixed with some finishing nails. Also the top left corner of the mantle is separating but very slightly and could easily be fixed. I believe that this fireplace would look amazing and in organic rustic style setting. This piece really speaks for itself in these photos truly do not do it justice.
