A pair of silver-plated jewelry boxes manufactured by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in Germany, circa 1900. These Art Nouveau pieces feature an oxidized finish with polished flat surfaces. Each rectangular box is supported by four short, square feet and features a fixed, arched handle. The handles are anchored by decorative relief masks of bearded figures. The front of each box is adorned with a horizontal bas-relief panel depicting a classical scene with multiple figures in motion. The construction shows a matte, aged patina consistent with silver-plated hollow-ware from the Jugendstil period.
