Gilded Empire Lamp Bases, 1700. Set of four palm-holder vases with a square base and turned and carved body in Swiss pine wood, water-gilded with fine gold leaf on a red bole primer. They are finished only on the front, while the back is finished in Sienese yellow tempera. In good condition, despite small losses consistent with a late 18th-century date. Italian origin.
