Set Of Lounge Chair And Ottoman In Upholstered Walnut By Anna-Lülja Praun, Austria, 1950s

Elegant Mid-Century Modern long-back lounge chair with ottoman by Anna-Lülja Praun, Austria, circa 1950s. Crafted in solid walnut with beautifully sculpted armrests and refined spindle back, exemplifying the organic and human-centered design language of Austrian postwar modernism. Anna-Lülja Praun was an important figure in Austrian mid-century design, known for her elegant, functional furniture and close association with Viennese modernist principles. Her work is increasingly recognized for its craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic. The chair features its original sprung seat construction, which remains in excellent condition—firm, supportive, and fully intact. The high back offers exceptional comfort and a distinctive silhouette, complemented by the matching ottoman. The original floral upholstery is well preserved overall and retains its charm and character. The upholstery would benefit from professional dry cleaning, as is typical for well-preserved vintage pieces of this age. The wooden frame shows a warm, even patina with minor surface wear consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and ready for use. A rare and highly collectible piece, increasingly difficult to find, especially complete with its matching ottoman. Ideal for collectors and refined interiors seeking authentic Mid-Century European design. A set of three matching chairs is also available. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
