In this listing you will find a beautiful Mid Century Modern Settee designed by Gastone Rinaldi for RIMA. Gastone Rinaldi designed this beautiful and iconic settee in 1954. The shape of the settee is sculptural, unique, and extraordinary: the two soft armrests merge to form a backrest with filigree contours without restricting the seat's comfort. The legs of the settee are very finely designed and create a wonderful symbiosis with the organically shaped seat. Gastone Rinaldi found contour-soft and ergonomic shapes and projected them onto his designs. The frame comes with steel legs. The settee were produced between 1954-1960 and are in good vintage condition. In addition to the settee, there are two armchairs from the same set available for sale, as seen in the second picture, which you could find in a separate listing. The settee has been recently refurbished by the previous owner. The steel frames have been repainted and the chairs have been reupholstered in Union Jack patterned vinyl. Reupholstery to a more subtle fabric and pattern would make the settee a real Mid Century jewel piece that could fit into any space. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
