We created these classic cloth napkins in collaboration with Tensira — a celebrated textile house founded by a Guinean and Finnish husband-and-wife duo that blends Scandinavian aesthetics with ancestral West African weaving and dyeing techniques. We dreamt up their five distinctive designs in-house, taking our inspiration from the timeless striped motifs found on some of our favorite vintage furnishings and textiles. Tensira’s team of skilled craftswomen then brought our designs to life using cotton that was spun and woven by hand and dyed in one of two colorways — Jaipur’s soft, rosy beige or Ciel’s fresh bluish-grey. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the end results, which strike the perfect balance between European elegance and global authenticity.
