Oak bedside table, 1960s, compact size. It belongs to the neo-rustic movement which, after the war, revived solid oak and simplified folk art motifs. The "target" motif front and the mixed base (square legs and balls) evoke designs from the 1930s-50s and recall, in spirit, the furniture of Charles Dudouyt or the warm modernism of Guillerme & Chambron (Votre Maison). A brass knob door opens to reveal practical storage, an overhanging top, and a beautiful honey patina. Sturdy and easy to place, it works equally well as a bedside table or a small side table, adding a graphic and authentic touch.
