One of four extremely rare Sputnik or atomic light fixture 'RS 16 HL' by J.T. Kalmar, manufactured in midcentury, Austria, circa 1970 (late 1960s or early 1970s). Only a small number of these large pieces were produced.It is made of a very lightweight plated aluminium frame with a finish similar to satin brass or a matte gold tone. The hand blown and globe shaped bubble glass lamp shades have a diameter of 4.7 inch (12 cm).The chandelier takes 16 small screw base bulbs (candelabra E14) with max. 40 W per bulb. It is possible to install this fixture in all countries (US, UK, Europe, Asia, Canada,) although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It also can be used with a dimmer.It can be used as pendant or flush mount light:The light hangs on wire ropes. Therefore the total drop can be adjusted in any length. It also can be mounted very close to the ceiling to work as flush mount chandelier.Measures: The height of the body without ropes is 27.6 inch (70 cm). The total drop including the ropes is currently approx. 49 in. (125 cm) but can be customized to any length.There are four pieces available. The price is per fixture. They are sold individually, as pair, or as set of two, three or four chandeliers.
