While the barcelona model was originally produced by lyfa, other authorised manufacturers—such as dema—also produced the design during the 1970s due to its popularity. a maker’s mark reading “t / type 20980” is present, along with the original “barcelona” label, confirming the model designation. design & construction the pendant features eight stacked aluminium shades, a signature karlby construction developed to diffuse light softly while eliminating glare. The carefully spaced louvres create a warm, layered light effect and a visually weightless sculptural form—equally beautiful lit or unlit. the shades are held together by three metal rods with spacers, maintaining precise separation between each layer.
