The designer is unspecified and attributed to the louis poulsen in-house design team. This model was produced only for a brief period and first appears in the louis poulsen catalogue of 1967. the wesselpendel belongs to a two-model series: oslopendel – ø36 cm, approx. 19 cm high, 13-ring construction, 75w wesselpendel – ø22.5 cm, 17 cm high, 9-ring construction, 60w (the version offered here) these lamps are extremely scarce, especially the smaller wesselpendel model. each pendant features: a single steel equatorial band painted black externally and white internally two stepped, graduated nylon diffusers (top and bottom) constructed from concentric circular nylon rings diffusers supported by plastic struts a steel bulb housing that clips into the smallest top diffuser ring via three original hanging clips original bakelite bulb socket seated within the steel housing newly installed electrical cable and ceiling canopy (150 cm cable length) when assembled, the lamp presents as nine horizontal rings surrounding a small central black cylindrical bulb housing — a distinctive and highly architectural expression typical of louis poulsen’s 1960s experimental period. these wesselpendel pendants surface on the market very rarely, making them highly collectable pieces for serious danish lighting enthusiasts. dimensions (wesselpendel model) height: 17 cm diameter: 22.5 cm cable length: 150 cm max wattage: 60w condition very good vintage condition with light age-related traces.
