This antique Hibachi, crafted during the late Meiji era in Japan, is made from turned Paulownia wood, also known as Kiri-noke. The piece is beautifully decorated with gilt, lacquer, and inlaid mother of pearl. Originally designed for home heating, hibachis are often repurposed as cachepots, planters, jardinières, ikebana vessels, or simply used as decorative objects. It includes the original copper liner. It is in very good condition, with wear to metal liner and minor imperfections as shown. Plant is for illustration purposes only and not included. Measurements: 12" diameter by 8" high approximately. Weight: about 4 lbs. unpacked.
