This low, ceramic planter dates to the late 19th century and was originally used as a small, tabletop fishbowl. The vessel is simply shaped with tapered sides, two ridges along the rim and a wide mouth opening ideal for housing potted plants or flowers. The exterior is cloaked in an opaque celadon glaze in a lovely shade of robin's egg blue, now richly aged with a timeworn patina and an allover crackle.
