An amazing early 20th century Central Asian Khotan rug with a wonderful burnt red or orange abrash background with a large central pale indigo medallion surrounded by a field of tree-of-life and pomegranate motifs. The border is exquisite, with an inner striped meandering motif woven on a bias, and an outer border with turbulent cloud and rain motif.
