An antique Neapolitan polychrome wooden sculpture depicting a blessing child. The child has naturalistic, childlike proportions, with a tilted head, large eyes and a frontal gaze, and rests on a gilded, carved wooden base. The arms are raised and outstretched, with the hands arranged in a blessing and welcoming gesture, so that the anatomical rendering is simplified yet attentive to the main volumes. The skin tone is rendered with pinkish colour variations concentrated on the face, chest and knees. Condition: Some defects. Provenance: Naples, 18th century. Dimensions: 25x20 H72cm. Documentation: Certificate of Authenticity.
