Extremely fine and beautifully carved Bronze Buddha from Sri Lanka, South India. Lost wax with the original clay core still intact inside the bronze body. Wide face and handsome features, the lips and eyes are crisply executed, and the heavy proportions are clean and squarely seated in the lotus posture. The sculptural form of classic Ceylon ( Sri Lanka now). Sri Lanka Ushnisha form in the center top of the head. A small flame top of the Ushnisha. Ultimately, a beautiful Seated Buddha Sculpture. The measurements are 11" tall, 10.25" wide and 5" deep. possibly 12 pounds.
