90,000 total folds Geometric reflection origami tower - 8,000 Sheets of hand folded paper. Original One of a Kind tedious and laborious innovative Cubic Design in paper engineering. Using my self created interlocking base fold that requires no adhesives this is an organic composition freestanding sculpture. It is centered around showcasing symmetry and geometric aesthetic through polyhedral fractal forms, balance, symmetry, and negative spaces. A fundamental aspect in creating this type of work relates to physical ability, mental dexterity, and an understanding of 3-Dimenaional geometric/mathematical knowledge. Upon construction I applied by hand a Polycrylic Enamel overcoat to reinforce an already solid structural integrity. This allows an easy handling ability and ensures that the piece will last long term. A monochromatic metallic gold overcoat emphasizes and highlights the entirety of the design and illuminates the form depending on the lighting. Gold also has sentimental and historical meaning to me.
