Item description: Wonderful polychrome hard-paste porcelain sculpture, entirely decorated by hand, depicting a lady and gentleman at the piano, with flowers applied to the base and pure gold finishes, made and signed under the base by the German manufacturer Meissen, with one of the first and oldest marks from the 1700s, in blue underglaze, specifically with the Augustus Rex mark, consisting of an "A" and an "R" intersecting each other. Most likely, this is a later reissue of a Kaendler model, made in the first half of the 1800s and bearing the 1700 mark of the first edition, as was often the case with reissues. Final considerations on the object: The artistic quality of the sculpture is very high. Note the floral decorations, entirely hand-painted with a brush, and the beauty of the pure gold finishes and the flowers on the base. The porcelain is very hard and creamy, full and solid. Consider that the sculpture is very heavy even though it is not particularly large. Finally, the patina is excellent, especially under the base with the dark blue and worn mark, which is now almost barely visible, and with the outer legs of the letters not curling as they do in Helena Wolfshon's reproductions. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
