A beautifully proportioned antique solid mahogany secretary desk with glass-front upper cabinet and elegant carved detailing. Originally belonging to my grandmother, this piece has been carefully preserved within the family and retains wonderful period character. The upper cabinet features an arched, mullioned glass door framed by carved wood detailing and topped with a classic broken-pediment crown. The slant-front desk opens to reveal a practical writing surface with interior cubbies and small drawers, while four graduated drawers below provide excellent storage. Original hardware and keyholes remain intact. The solid mahogany has a rich tone, beautiful grain, and warm, time-softened patina that reflects decades of careful use. Compact yet substantial, this piece works beautifully as a writing desk, display cabinet, bar cabinet, linen storage, or refined accent piece in a living room, study, bedroom, entry, or dining area. We have loved having it in our family, but sadly no longer have the right space for it.
