A splendid and well proportioned 18th century and later walnut bureau of exceptional craftsmanship. The top is finished with a galleried edge upon turned vase finials. The fall opens to reveal a stepped fitted interior with five drawers and a hidden sliding panel to the centre, with a further three hidden drawers. The fall displays a delightful leather writing pad which is supported by a pair of loper with turned walnut knobs. Three long drawers with original walnut knobs sit above a pair of shelved cupboards to further compliment this wonderful bureau. Raised on four original bun feet. The bureau has a rich colour and patina commensurate with age. It is packed full of little quirks that make this piece a unique survivor.
