Diminutive Charles X period mahogany and mahogany veneer desk in two parts with a marble top. The desk has its original gilt bronze mounts on both sections. The upper section has early mirrored doors and two drawers. The lower section has a desk compartment with three drawers and a writing surface covered in felt, and two deep lower drawers. There is an inscription with a 1939 date under the marble top and two affixed labels in French on the back. The desk is in excellent condition with a good finish. No major repairs and structurally sound. The marble has some minor chipping on the underside. It is very well constructed with dovetails, and mortise/tenon. Easily transported by taking it apart. The desk measures 33.5"w x 55"h x 20" deep.
