Object: Standing secretary Epoch & style: Louis Philippe, mid-19th century : Wonderfully crafted standing secretary - outside in pyramid mahogany, inside veneered in birch - magnificently decorated with curves, carvings and profiles in a practical layout. The body houses two high and two half-height drawers across the entire width and a large flap/writing board which opens and closes gently using a counterweight mechanism. Inside there are three wide and six narrower drawers as well as a lockable door flanked by turned decorative columns. All internal drawers spectacularly veneered with birch wood.
