Louis XV period marquetry and veneer secretary desk, 18th century Charming Louis XV period drop-front secretary desk, opening with a top drawer, a drop-front revealing an interior fitted with small drawers and compartments, as well as a lower compartment with two doors. The elegantly curved front is decorated with beautiful geometric marquetry in light wood framed by darker woods. Finely chased bronze mounts adorn the handles and keyhole escutcheons. The top is original gray veined marble. The interior, in red wood, is practically organized with small drawers and compartments for writing and storing documents. The slightly cabriole legs terminate in graceful bronze sabots. A refined piece of furniture, typical of 18th-century France, combining elegance, functionality, and exquisite craftsmanship.
