Create visual interest with this 1950s original Mexican Equipale table, 100% handcrafted in Mexico. Known for its rustic charm and recognized worldwide. Made from centuries old tanning and dying processes. All natural materials, pig skin, cedar strips, twigs and branches. The cedar strips create a lattice pattern on the base. The top is pigskin leather. A work of folk art. The word Equipale comes from the Nahuatl term icpalli, which means “chair for gods”. In excellent condition Very sturdy with 80 years of period wear and patina, consistent with age and use. Staining on the top. No serious damage. Weighs 35lbs.
