This attractive vintage Mexican equipale table features an hour-glass form, painted top with glass. Constructed of colorful cedar strips attached with metal cleats to circular cedar bands at the base, waist, & top. The upper band sports a studded metal ring holding distressed leather fringe which could be easily snipped off, if desired. The table is crowned with a leather circle (semi-attached), painted with an image of a couple in traditional costume dancing, and then topped by a sturdy piece of circular glass. Perfect as an accent table, drink table, or an intimate, tête-à-tête dining table for two. Very good vintage condition, structurally sound with minimal wear to wood; fringe is distressed with significant material loss but easy to remove, if desired. Leather top has obvious wear, as shown.
