A finely decorated late 18th century Georgian Pembroke table with its original painted decoration in very good condition, consisting of a ribbon scroll border circling a taut strawberry garland and a central medallion with a scene depicting a little girl and boy playing with spaniels. The table legs also have exquisitely precise bell flower sprays and pendants, and each square tapered leg terminates in a simple Marlborough foot. The harewood is rich with glowing golden color and subtle figure, a beautiful native English wood standing in for its imported equivalent, satinwood. Tulipwood cross banding finishes the edges; Good antique condition, the surface cleaned and polished while carefully conserving the original paint. Typical signs of age and use: some separations to the wood , a slightly darker water stain near the center front has mostly been remediated. H: 26 ⅞ W closed 20 ¼ : D: 31 W open: 39
