The surface finish on this piece is an innovation developed by llot llov in berlin for gallery bensimon; where the studio exclusively designed a furniture collection based on a blue striped pattern in 2015. Llot llov transferred the effects of osmosis created by salt onto wood. First, the surface is glazed in monochrome color, then it is sprinkled with pure salt. The salt absorbs the liquid as well as the color pigments and leaves a lightened corona. Each pattern is unique. The blue stripe pattern is based on sea salt.
