Large chest bench in solid walnut, Napoleon III period, second half of the 19th century.Structure composed of a chest with a molded base, with framed panels on the front and sides, resting on turned baluster legs carved with foliage motifs characteristic of the Henri II – Napoleon III style. The upper corners of the independent backrest are decorated with sculpted volutes and foliage. The padded seat and back are trimmed in black leather, secured with gold-headed brass studs.Workshop observation: the leather shows pronounced wear with cracking and flaking, particularly on the seat. The original horsehair interior trim and burlap remain visible under the seat. Re-upholstery necessary, achievable on estimate by the workshop.
