This small rectangular box is characterized by its rich woodwork. The walnut veneer top on four leaves is surrounded by a green stained wood fillet, followed by a frame, then decorative friezes, cedar burr and finally mahogany. Each of the four sides of this box is made of burr cedar, highlighted by the same stained wood fillet. The lid is mounted on three hinges, has a knee compass to keep it open, and has a metal clasp in perfect working order.
