Painted Norwegian pine immigrant trunk with coffer top and mounted with a pair of hand wrought iron hinges. The trunk is assembled with dove tailed construction, hand forged rose head nails, and fitted with a pair of iron bail handles. A till with lift top lid is morticed into the left side of the interior. The trunk is inscribed across the front and dated in white calligraphy on a black painted ground. Norway, 1827.
