Model B shanty cabinet by Doshi LevienDimensions: D 52 x W 208 x H 98 cm Materials: containers manufactured of MDF in a matte lacquered finish, attached together using a mechanical fixing system. Doors made of MDF with mechanized wave-form fronts, and matte lacquered finish. Glass top 8mm thick and transparent. Octagonal legs are made of gold extruded aluminum. The structure is made of tubular iron with welded strips to assemble the legs.Also available in Model A, small, and in color grey.Shanty is inspired by the patchwork of corrugated steel sheets which are used to construct many temporary or provisional homes, which exist in the whole world. Its beauty lies in imperfection. This spontaneous composition of superimposed surfaces in different colors is recreated with a wavy front. Its body has an asymmetrical volume and each door opens differently.In 1972, a group of young architects and designers from Barcelona created BD with the aim of producing and marketing furniture and other objects for our projects, with complete creative freedom and with a criterion that has turned out to be quite different from the norm at companies in the sector, regarding both the shape and function.
