Architectural Smoked Acrylic Glass Table Lamp In The Style Of Roche Bobois, France, 1970s

Chairish

$2,031

French table lamp made around 1970, with a sculptural base of architectural composition formed by vertical blocks of layered smoked acrylic glass, assembled with exposed screws and a central plate of transparent methacrylate. The design reflects the sophisticated language of French interior design from the late 1960s and 70s, when firms like Roche Bobois incorporated noble industrial materials—acrylic glass, metal, and glass—into pieces with a strong geometric presence and decorative character. The structure creates an interesting interplay of transparencies, depth, and warm amber reflections depending on the angle of the light. Its clean lines and modular construction evoke the Space Age aesthetic and modern European luxury, designed for high-end contemporary interiors. A new, custom-made linen shade provides warm, balanced lighting and enhances the sculptural character of the base. Attributed to Roche Bobois. Very good condition, with slight signs of use consistent with its age. France, ca. 1970 Dimensions: Height: 67 cm Width: 40 cm Depth: 20 cm Materials: smoked acrylic glass, clear methacrylate, metal, linen.
