Pink square glass Poliarte 1960's table lamps consist a solid cast glass cubic base of clear glass with swirls of pink and air bubbles. The unusual shades are made of sheets of glass in two layers, the inner layer is white and the outer layer is in a lively burgundy art glass. Dimensions shade: 12 x 16 cm Dimensions base: 8 x 8 x 8 cm Poliarte was founded by the artist Albano Poli (B 1935) in 1953, initially as a producer of exceptional stained glass, moving onto create some of the most sought after and celebrated lighting designs of the 1960's and 1970's. Poli created jewels of light, sometimes rough and unpolished, sometimes refined and brilliant, but always exquisite and unique, with his craftsmanship and iconic sensibility of experimental techniques in glass. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
