Magnificent first edition large gatto cocoon table lamps designed by achille and pier giacomo castiglioni and produced by flos in italy during the 1960s. The lamps are signed inside. Fully original, in amazing conditions and with an incredibly charming vintage beige color. Two pieces available. Of the two versions designed by the castiglioni brothers, this is the largest size. The iconic gatto table lamp is made by an internal frame in curved steel which is covered by a special soft cocoon resin. The resin has a beautiful even patina which gave it a wonderful beige color. The effect when lit is simply spectacular. Fully wired and tested, compatible with both us and eu/uk standards, it uses a single e26/27 light bulb. An incredibly rare and iconic italian table lamp, perfect to complement a mid-century style project. Dimensions (cm): diameter - 33 height - 60 this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
