Large teak and brushed aluminium table lamp made by the high end producer of lamps asea, in the mid 1950´s. Designer is unknown. The lamp is good condition, with only minor marks and scuffs to the aluminium, new wiring has been made and original lampholders are still working perfect. The lamp measures 51.5 cm in height and the diameter of the aluminium shade is 35.5 cm, the base diameter is 18 cm. Asea was founded in 1883 by ludvig fredholm in västerås as a manufacturer of electrical lighting and generators. After merging with wenström's & granström's electrical power company, the name was changed to allmänna svenska elektriska aktiebolaget, literally the "general swedish electrical limited company", or a asea for short. Asea hired some of the most established and known lampdesigners at that time, to design beutiful lamps with the greatest cuccess. Designers such as hans bergström, carl auböck, gunnar asplund, carl axel acking and sonja katzin designed numerous iconic lamps that are extremely sought after by decorators and collectors. Asea continued to produce high end lamps until late 20th century. Eu standard.
